About

A studio, not a holding company.

Sage Consulting Group started as a consultancy in 2003. Over time it became a workshop — a place where the ideas we kept seeing in the field became their own companies. Today, SageCG is the venture studio that owns and operates that portfolio.

What a venture studio is

An accelerator picks winners. A holding company buys them. A venture studio builds them — from the inside, using a shared team, shared infrastructure, and a long-term operator mindset.

Each company in our portfolio is one we started ourselves or grew out of work we were already doing. They keep independent brands, products, and economics. The studio is the spine; the companies are the body.

How we decide what to build

  1. Real pain. If we can’t point to a specific person miserable about a specific problem, we don’t ship.
  2. Fair market. Big enough to matter, small enough to be ignored by giants.
  3. Operator advantage. Something about the team, the network, or the stack gives us a real edge.
  4. Path to durability. A plausible road to a profitable, lasting business — not just a fundable one.
