The problem
Football is the most popular sport in America and one of the least understood. Most fans can name the players but can’t read the field — why a coverage rotates, how a play-call sets up the next one, when to run and when to throw. That knowledge lives with coaches and film-study diehards, locked behind jargon and hours of tape.
Gridiron X&O turns that knowledge into a game. It’s a strategic, chalkboard-style curriculum that teaches the sport one lesson at a time — taking a casual fan all the way to genuine play-calling mastery.
What we ship
- A campaign map — a visual progression tree that gates lessons and walks players from fundamentals up to advanced strategy.
- ChalkTalks & Coach Identity film rooms — slide-based reading lessons that teach concepts the way a coordinator would.
- Drill levels — rapid-fire repetition minigames that turn recognition into reflex.
- Scrimmage & drive scenarios — a deterministic run/pass game engine where you call plays against an AI defense.
- Shareable Coach Cards — public player profiles at their own
/u/[handle]to show off progress. - Freemium curriculum — early units are free, with a paywall unlocking the full path.
What’s coming
- GM Mode and Head Coach — already wired into the campaign map as visible “coming soon” nodes, previewing the next tiers of the curriculum natively in-app.
